As a children’s advocacy center, CARE House of the Pee Dee’s mission is to promote help, hope, and healing in a nurturing environment to child abuse victims and their families, through supportive services and prevention.
Silent Tears gave the organization $10,000 to provide training at the Child Protection Training Center at the University of South Carolina Upstate for CAC staff, law enforcement, social services and the solicitor’s office in Florence and Clarendon counties – approximately 25-30 people.
An additional $8,500 from Silent Tears will help fund training, food, veterinary expenses and other costs associated with a new facility dog through the Canine Companions program.
