The Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons empowers domestic violence and sexual violence victims and their families by providing services, reducing the tolerance of abuse, and advocating for social change.
The organization has offices in Aiken, Barnwell and Edgefield.
Silent Tears granted the Cumbee Center $15,000 to fund a strategic planning consultant who can help guide its board, staff and volunteers in the direction that best aligns with the organization’s mission as it continues to grow.
On October 30, 2019, Silent Tears awarded an additional $50,000 for the organization’s needs during a third round of grants.
