Pickens County Advocacy Center

Established in 1985, the Pickens County Advocacy Center provides trauma-informed care and crisis intervention for all sexual assault victims in Pickens County.

Formerly the Rape Crisis Council of Pickens County, the center provides immediate 24-hour response to sexual assault victims and their families through medical, court and law enforcement escort, educational programs, legal advocacy and support services.

Silent Tears provided the organization with $10,000 to add security measures to its office locations through a main entrance security access system.

An additional $30,000 grant is funding the center’s Healthy Relationships Program, which is partially supported through a federal grant. The funding will help the center provide additional educational materials to participants, re-launch the Bar Outreach Program in the Clemson area and fund the Beards & Braids project, as well as increase the hours of a part-time educator.
