The Rape Crisis Center of Horry and Georgetown Counties is a private, nonprofit organization that provides services to survivors of rape and sexual assault.
The organization also promotes public awareness of the realities of sexual victimization and strives toward its elimination through outreach and community education.
Services provided by the center include confidential counseling, support groups, legal advocacy and educational programs.
Silent Tears granted the organization $27,600 to fund rent for its offices in Myrtle Beach for one year, allowing the center time to meet with the city about another available space.
On October 30, 2019, Silent Tears awarded an additional $68,750 for the organization’s needs during a third round of grants.
