The YWCA of the Upper Lowlands, Inc. is a nonprofit membership organization incorporated in August 1967, as a member of the national YWCA.
Today, the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands serves women, men, youth, families and seniors in Sumter, Lee and Clarendon counties. The YWCA of the Upper Lowlands provides 24/7 residential shelter and safety to domestic violence female victims and their children, serving Clarendon, Lee and Sumter counties.
Silent Tears gave the organization $35,000 for the organization’s needs, including the replacement of a leaking roof.
On October 30, 2019, Silent Tears awarded an additional $68,750 for the organization’s needs during a third round of grants.
